I like long walks on the beach

Mark This whole web site was created by Mark Wilson, a student at Miami University in scenic Oxford, Ohio. Miami University is one of the original eight "public ivys," along with the University of Virginia, the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, the University of California (Berkeley, Santa Barbara, San Diego, Los Angeles, and Davis), and a bunch of other neat universities. Mark is majoring in English literature and history and minoring in Spanish. Looks like it's soup line for him! No, seriously; he needs a job. Mark joined the Internet in 1995 and has been making web pages almost since then. This is his umpteenth foray into web design, but unlike earlier attempts, this site combines everything that he's created in one easy-to-navigate place (at least we hope it's easy).

People who didn't work on this web site, but we like them, anyway

Scott Scott is playing the part of The Enforcer in this picture. Note how Jay derides him for being an authority figure (not pictured: Silent Bob). And yet, how can he be an authority figure when's wearing anarchist colors? Scott's major is diplomacy and foreign affairs, but his real major is "cool stuff that nobody else knows." Scott is always an excellent source of esoteric information, and he is helped along in this regard by his copy of Schott's Original Miscellaney. Scott used to have a web site, but he never updated it. Instead, he is the SEDHE Chief Information Auditor, which means he tells me when things on the website are wrong.
Matt I live with this guy. Matt is a graphic design major, and was a guitarist for the ultra-cool band The Culling Song. Matt is the world's expert on punk music and small bands that no one's ever heard of. Matt does have a web site, which showcases his abilities to use Macromedia Flash and Adobe Photoshop. If you're an indie record label in need of design work, give him a call.
Shannon Shannon has war-paint on because she recently returned from a war. No, just kidding. It's blood because she just finished killing someone. No, just kidding. It's both of them! Shannon is also a graphic design major and is Band Photographer for The Culling Song. She works at Mac & Joe's, home of the most fabulous chicken wings in the universe. She has her own web site, as well, which displays her portfolio of design work and excellent photography. It was Shannon who came up with the acronym "SEDHE," which, of course, stands for "Slams Elbow Down, Hand Extended."
Judy Yes, Judy is dressed like a kindergartner. And yes, she is sucking on a rubber duck that has been dipped in chocolate. Only she knows why she's doing this. Judy is a marketing major and spent the last summer doing something for Proctor & Gamble (it was apparently very hush-hush and involved nuclear missiles and toothpaste).
Ashli I think this was the haircut that Ashli hated. In any case, it's the only good picture of her that I have. Ashli is, like Scott, a diplomacy and foreign affairs major. Unlike Scott, Ashli goes to her diplomacy classes. She is one of the top ten funniest people in the world, even though she looks bored in this picture.
Sarah Sarah used to be a zoology major, thinking that she was going to go into medicine. What was she thinking?! Like the rest of us, she realized that zoology is really hard, so she switched to English, which isn't nearly as hard. In fact, she speaks it almost perfectly! Sarah is also one of the charter members of Pub Club, which meets every Monday night to go to Mac & Joe's for $4 pitchers of PBR and 35-cent wings.
Elizabeth Elizabeth is a zoology major who wants to go into neurology. She enjoys writing on people -- mostly me -- with permanent marker. She also bites. A lot. She is biting me right now! Oww! In spite of her tendency to write 'n' bite, she is still an excellent friend. Oh, and she tickles, too. Augh! She feels very passionately about the plight of people in the world, especially poor people and immigrants. It makes me feel petty, what with my passionate feelings about intellectual property law and free speech. I guess I just don't like people.
Michelle Michelle is wearing a scarf as a babuska in this picture. Why she's doing it no one will ever know. Michelle is majoring in chemistry, which means that she'll have a real job while the rest of us are living in a box. She doesn't have a web site, but I guess that's just too bad for her!
This Katie is called "Rock 'n' Roll" Katie to distinguish her from the other Katy, whose name is spelled differently but pronounced the same (see below). But you wouldn't know that just from saying it. Katie is studying education so she can be a middle-school math teacher when she grows up. She likes indie punk music and They Might Be Giants.
Drew is an English major with an affinity for disc golfing. Disc golfing likes him, too. They plan to be married next week. Can you believe that Drew is a notary public? Sometimes we get him to notarize things that don't even need to be notarized, just because he can. In this photo from Halloween, Drew has decided to dress up as Banana Phone. He is currently engaged in fisticuffs with The Educator.
Cole Cole is a drinker who studies engineering in his spare time. He used his engineering know-how to design a two-story, dual-valve beer bong called Frank the Tank. I suppose it's true what they say about idle hands being the devil's workshop.
Dree Dree breaks things. Lots of things. And tips things over, spilling their contents. When she's not breaking things, she studies journalism and writes for the campus rag The Miami Student. Sometimes she appears in Stage Left plays with Drew. Also pictured: Susan Robertson Wilson.
Katy Katy is a psychology/music major. As you might expect, she gets a little stressed out every now and then. Here she is, pictured as a little stressed. Don't worry, though; she doesn't look like this all the time. She's just baring her teeth at us now so as to protect her young.
Andrew (code-name: "Higgity") spent last semester in France, developing a respect for the French people and a taste for delicious horse meat. He took up swimming in France and continues to swim to this day. He took me swimming with him once and I almost died.
Kristi Kristi is Michelle's roommate. She has a deep love for the Earth, its animals, and its Canadians. Also Bruce Campbell. If you're lucky, you can sometimes hear her reading the news and/or weather on WMUB, Oxford's NPR station.
Jess was apprently furious when she found out that she wasn't on this page. I totally forgot about her! Like me she's an Englsh major, and like me, she's in a lot of my classes. In case you don't know, Jess is getting married in April. (What she doesn't know is that I'll be schmammered at the wedding, causing a thousand kinds of ruckus. Sssh!)
Cathy is my sister, currently a senior at Mentor High School. She is planning to go to Ohio University to study journalism. Comments written in my blog by "Bud-dy" come from her because she's a big douchebag. While other kids her age are working at J.C. Penney or Target, she writes for a real, actual newspaper: The Lake County Gazette. Though not as real as The New York Times, it's still better than your newspaper (unless your newspaper is The New York Times)!
